This Fellowship of Emerging Leaders (FEL or Fellowship) program offers select younger leaders the opportunity to learn while serving the World Evangelical Alliance in a coordinated program based in Dover, NY. The program includes residency, classroom instruction, online and mediated learning, research and on the job training. Our Philosophy:Unity in Diversity |
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:2-3)
One of the greatest splendors in the body of Christ is unity in diversity. At the same time, one of the biggest problems in the current body of Christ is disunity. Christianity has long been fragmented into so many denominations that our effectiveness in advancing the Kingdom of God is largely diminished. God called us to a life of unity in a world so beautifully diverse. The differences are challenging and the barriers built through history require humility, and certainly the help of the Holy Spirit. WEA exists to help bring together the body of Christ in missional unity. As its leadership training program, FEL educates and equips younger leaders with the tools of peacemaking and building partnerships. |
Global and Local Impact |
Think globally, act locally.
It means big changes are often started with smaller moves on a local scale. Every powerful leader in the global scene had a humble beginning, starting in a local ministry. Continual service in the local community is a sure sign of humble servant leaders. With the aim to impact both global and local communities, the WEA is structured with Regional and National Alliances in various countries. National Alliances function as collective and consensual associations, enjoying the unique capacity to convene and serve as a platform for establishing partnerships for the benefit of Kingdom work in their countries. The power of having both global and local uniting bodies is tremendous. FEL allows its participants to learn and practice the essential skills to impact the body of Christ in every level. |
Support and Coordinate |
"If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it." (1 Corinthians 12:26)
In order to prepare godly servant-leaders who reflect the heart of God, they must first be trained, built up and empowered. By offering support for emerging leaders year-round, we believe this will not only strengthen local churches and ministries, but will also bring transformation to National Evangelical Alliances. Investing our efforts in younger leaders through the FEL program can bring growth within the local churches, community and national alliances, and that’s something to rejoice about. |
Transforming Leadership |
“And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” Mark 9:35
For emerging leaders to be effective, something far more intentional is required to challenge, reinforce and develop their Christian character. Emerging leaders need to be transformed in real life lessons that come through service within the WEA. With the life experiences engraved in them, their character naturally transforms and they continually grow with each experience. The FEL is to help bring this transformation and to also empower vision, values, ethics and relationships. |
